Add Hover Tooltips to Your DLC Content

Create an Info File

For any mod, resource pack, or data pack you want to document, create a text file with descriptive information. This file should be placed in the same folder as the content it describes.

Format Your Tooltip Text

Write clear, concise descriptions that explain what the content does, any dependencies it has, or special instructions for use. Keep text brief so it displays cleanly in the hover box.

Link the File to Your Content

Name or associate your info file with the corresponding DLC item. The DLC Manager will recognize the connection and display your text when players hover over that item in the menu.

Test the Tooltip

Open the DLC Manager menu and hover your cursor over the item you documented. Your tooltip should appear, providing helpful context without cluttering the main interface.

This approach helps players understand what each optional file does before enabling or disabling it, reducing confusion in large modpacks.
