Pre-generate LOD chunks for your world

Why pre-generate?

Pre-generating LOD chunks ensures smooth performance across your entire world from day one. Without pre-generation, players may experience lag spikes as the server generates LODs on-demand.

How to pre-generate

1. Use the pregen command with custom parameters:

`

/dhs pregen <world_name> <center_x> <center_z> <radius>

`

Replace the values with your desired area. For example: /dhs pregen world 0 0 5000 generates LODs in a 5000-block radius around spawn.

2. Or use automatic detection:

`

/dhs pregen

`

This uses your current world and its world border to determine the generation area automatically.

3. Monitor progress: The generation runs in the background. Check your server logs for completion messages. Larger areas take longer—plan accordingly during off-peak hours.

Tips

  • Pre-generate high-traffic areas first (spawn, towns, bases).
  • Smaller radius values complete faster; you can run multiple commands for different regions.
  • This reduces client-side lag when players explore new terrain.
