Use Distant Horizons with Shader Packs

Check Shader Compatibility

Not all shader packs work seamlessly with Distant Horizons Backport. The mod is designed to support specific shaders, but compatibility varies. Before installing a shader, verify it's known to work with this mod through community forums or the mod's documentation.

Install Compatible Shaders

Place your shader pack in the appropriate folder (usually shaderpacks in your game directory). Launch the game and enable the shader through Video Settings.

Adjust Shader Settings

Some shaders have options that interact with distant terrain rendering. Look for settings related to fog, distant rendering, or LOD effects. You may need to disable certain shader features if they conflict with the mod's distant terrain.

Test Visual Quality

Fly to high ground and observe how the shader affects both nearby and distant terrain. Distant blocks may appear slightly different due to the mod's lower-detail rendering, but the overall lighting and effects should remain consistent.

Troubleshoot Issues

If you see visual glitches or performance drops, try disabling the shader temporarily to confirm it's the cause. Adjust both the mod and shader settings to find a stable configuration.
