Configure Render Distance and Level of Detail Settings

Access the Mod Settings

Open your game settings and locate the Distant Horizons Backport configuration menu. This is typically found in the Video settings or a dedicated Mods section, depending on your launcher.

Adjust Render Distance

The mod allows you to set how far distant chunks are rendered. Increase this value to see farther landscapes, but be aware this impacts performance. Start with a moderate setting and increase gradually while monitoring your frame rate. The distant terrain will appear as lower-detail versions of blocks, so the visual impact is minimal even at extreme distances.

Fine-Tune Level of Detail

Locate the LOD (Level of Detail) slider. Lower values show more detail in distant terrain but use more memory and processing power. Higher values reduce detail further away, improving performance. Experiment with different settings to find the balance between visual quality and smooth gameplay.

Apply and Test

Save your changes and return to your world. Fly or travel to high ground to observe how far you can now see. Adjust settings further if needed based on your frame rate and visual preference.
