Create Alternating Visible and Invisible Beacon Beam Sections
Understanding the Pattern
Beacon beams become invisible when passing through clear glass or glass panes, and become visible again when they encounter a transparent colored block like stained glass.
Building the Alternating Pattern
Start with your beacon pointing upward. Build sections alternately:
1. Clear glass or glass panes (beam invisible)
2. Transparent colored block or stained glass (beam visible)
3. Clear glass again (beam invisible)
4. Colored glass again (beam visible)
Repeat this pattern vertically or horizontally as desired.
Design Considerations
- Each section can be as thick or thin as you want
- The beam will instantly switch between visible and invisible at each transition
- You can use different colors of stained glass for variety
- Combine with other building materials around the glass for aesthetic appeal
Creative Uses
This technique works well for:
- Decorative beacon installations
- Marking multiple levels of a structure
- Creating visual interest in tall builds
- Guiding players through different sections of a base
