Create a Beacon Beam That Stops at Glass
Setting Up Your Beacon
Place a beacon on a pyramid base as normal. Point it upward or in any direction you want the beam to travel. The beam will render normally until it hits an obstacle.
Using Glass to Break the Beam
Place clear glass or glass panes directly in the path of the beacon beam. The beam will stop rendering at the glass and will not pass through it. This creates a visual "break" in the beam.
If you stack multiple glass blocks or panes in the beam's path, the beam remains invisible through all of them.
Resuming the Beam
To make the beam visible again after glass, place a transparent colored block (such as stained glass) above or beyond the clear glass. The beam will resume rendering from that point onward.
Design Tips
Use this mechanic to:
- Hide beacon beams inside structures
- Create visual effects where beams appear and disappear
- Route beams through buildings without showing them in certain sections
- Combine clear and colored glass for creative beam patterns
