Troubleshoot missing vanilla mobs despite having the mod

Verify the mod is loaded

Open your mod list in-game (usually F3 or through the mods menu). Search for the mod name. If it's not listed, the mod file may not be in your mods folder or there's a version mismatch with your Minecraft version.

Check Pixelmon configuration

Pixelmon has its own spawn settings. Even with this mod installed, Pixelmon's config files might still be suppressing vanilla spawns. Look in your Pixelmon config folder for spawn-related settings and ensure vanilla mob spawning isn't disabled there.

Test spawn conditions

Vanilla mobs have specific spawn requirements:

  • Mobs spawn in darkness (light level 7 or lower)
  • Sufficient space is needed (at least 2 blocks high)
  • Difficulty must be Easy or higher
  • You must be far enough from spawn point

Try standing in a dark cave at night to test.

Reinstall if necessary

If the mod still isn't working, remove it completely, clear your mods folder cache, and reinstall. Ensure you're using a version compatible with your Minecraft version (1.16 or later).
