How to Stop the Narrator From Turning On Unexpectedly

Why the Narrator keeps appearing

The Narrator can be toggled with a keyboard shortcut, and on some setups that key is easy to hit by accident. Disable Accessibility Screen sets the Narrator to off by default at launch, but it cannot prevent a manual toggle during play.

Steps to keep it off

1. Launch the game and go to Options > Accessibility Settings.

2. Confirm the Narrator is set to off. If it is on, turn it off and back out of the menu so the change saves.

3. Open Options > Controls > Key Binds and search for the Narrator toggle entry.

4. Rebind it to a key you are unlikely to press, or clear the bind entirely if the game allows it. This prevents accidental activation during normal play.

5. If you use a controller, check the controller bindings section for the same toggle and adjust it there too.

6. Restart the game once to verify the Narrator stays off from the main menu onward.

If it still turns on

Another mod may be writing to the accessibility config on load. Disable other startup or onboarding mods one at a time to isolate the conflict. Also check that your options file is not set to read-only, which can cause settings to revert.
