Choose the Right Texture Resolution for Your Computer

Understanding Resolution Options

Digital Dreams offers multiple texture resolution versions. Higher resolutions show more detail but require more video memory (VRAM) and processing power. Matching the right resolution to your system prevents lag and crashes.

How to Select

1. Check your GPU's VRAM in your graphics settings—this is your main constraint

2. Start with a lower resolution if you have less than 4GB VRAM or an older graphics card

3. Use medium resolution for systems with 4–6GB VRAM and mid-range GPUs

4. Try high resolution only if you have 8GB+ VRAM and a modern graphics card

5. Load a test world with your chosen resolution and observe frame rates

6. Monitor performance while exploring different biomes and lighting conditions

Adjusting In-Game

You can switch resolutions without reinstalling—simply select a different version of the pack from your resource pack menu and reload your world. If you experience stuttering or low FPS, drop to the next lower resolution tier. Better to play smoothly at medium quality than beautifully at 10 FPS.
