Understand how tool durability works with multi-break mining
Durability consumption explained
Diggus Maximus Reborn fully respects tool durability—your pickaxe or axe loses durability for every block broken, even when using multi-break.
How durability depletes
1. When you hold ~ and break a connected vein or tree, each individual block counts toward durability loss
2. A vein of 10 ore blocks will consume 10 durability points, the same as mining them one by one
3. Multi-break does not reduce durability cost—it only saves time and effort
4. Your tool will break if durability reaches zero mid-harvest
Enchantment interaction
- Unbreaking: Reduces the chance of durability loss on each block, just as normal
- Mending: Repairs durability as you collect experience from broken blocks
- Fortune/Silk Touch: Applies to all blocks in the vein or tree simultaneously
Planning your mining
- Bring multiple tools or repair materials for large veins
- Use Mending-enchanted tools to sustain longer mining sessions
- Consider the size of veins before committing to multi-break harvest
