Make Mobs Emit Light While On Fire

How Mobs Produce Light

When mobs catch fire—whether from lava, fire blocks, or combat—they automatically emit light around them. This happens without any configuration needed; the mod detects burning mobs and applies dynamic lighting in real-time.

Setting Up Fire Scenarios

To see this in action:

1. Ignite a mob using flint and steel, fire aspect weapons, or by pushing them into lava or fire blocks

2. Observe the glow spreading from the burning mob to nearby blocks and terrain

3. Use this tactically in combat—burning enemies become visible light sources, useful for navigation in dark caves during fights

Tips for Exploration

This feature is particularly useful when:

  • Fighting mobs in pitch-black caves
  • You need temporary light sources without placing blocks
  • Tracking burning enemies at distance

Note that the light persists only while the mob remains on fire. Once extinguished (by water or time), the light disappears. This creates dynamic, temporary lighting that adds realism to combat scenarios.
