Apply Custom Armor Layers Over Your Skin

Understanding Transparent Overlay Layers

DGLib allows cosmetic mods to add see-through layers on top of your character's skin. These layers let custom armor, clothing, or accessories sit naturally over your body without replacing your actual skin texture.

How Overlay Layers Work

When a cosmetic mod uses DGLib's layering system:

1. Your base skin renders first (your character's body)

2. Transparent or semi-transparent cosmetic layers render on top

3. The layers blend with your skin, creating depth and realism

This is especially useful for:

  • Custom armor that needs to fit over different body shapes
  • Clothing or capes that shouldn't hide your character's appearance
  • Accessories like belts, jewelry, or magical auras

What You'll See

Cosmetics using this system will appear naturally layered on your character. If a cosmetic mod supports DGLib's overlay features, you don't need to do anything—the mod handles the rendering automatically. The layers will display correctly in both first-person and third-person views.
