Enable Volumetric Lighting Effects
Access Shader Settings
Open the shader options menu while in-game by pressing the designated shader menu key (usually accessed through video settings). Look for the Lighting or Volumetric section in the settings panel.
Configure Volumetric Lights
Locate the volumetric lighting toggle and enable it. You'll see options to adjust:
- Intensity: Controls how bright the light rays appear
- Density: Affects how thick or thin the rays look as they pass through particles
- Samples: Higher values create smoother rays but may impact performance
Optimize for Your System
If you experience frame rate drops, reduce the sample count or intensity slider. Volumetric effects are most visible during sunrise, sunset, and when light passes through clouds or dense foliage. Test different settings in these conditions to find your balance between visual quality and smooth gameplay.
For best results, enable this feature in areas with trees, water, and varied terrain where light rays will be most noticeable.
