Optimize Performance on Lower-End Hardware
Reduce Visual Complexity
Start by lowering shadow quality in the shader options. DERCODE Lite allows you to disable or reduce soft shadow rendering, which significantly improves frame rates on modest systems. You can also reduce the shadow distance to limit how far shadows render.
Disable Advanced Effects
Turn off or reduce sunbeam/volumetric lighting intensity if performance remains poor. These atmospheric effects are visually striking but computationally expensive. Water reflections can also be simplified or disabled.
Monitor and Test
After each adjustment, spend time in different environments—caves, forests, and open sky—to ensure performance remains smooth. DERCODE Lite is optimized for lower-spec hardware, but your specific system's capabilities vary.
If you still experience lag, consider reducing your render distance in Video Settings alongside shader adjustments. The combination of shader settings and render distance has the most significant impact on frame rate. Test during different times of day, as night scenes with torchlight may perform differently than daytime.
