DERCODE Lite enhances how torchlight and other light sources illuminate dark spaces. The shader automatically improves contrast and clarity in caves, making torches and lanterns more effective without requiring additional mods.

Adjust Ambient Lighting

In shader options, locate ambient light or cave brightness settings. Increasing ambient light makes dark caves more visible without relying solely on torches, useful for exploration and mining. Decreasing it creates a more challenging, atmospheric experience.

Optimize for Nighttime

Night scenes benefit from DERCODE Lite's torchlight improvements. The shader makes torches cast clearer, more natural light. Adjust moonlight intensity if available to control how much natural light the moon provides during night exploration.

Balance Atmosphere and Visibility

Finding the right balance depends on your playstyle. If you prefer exploration without constant torch placement, increase ambient lighting. For survival challenge and atmosphere, keep ambient lighting lower and rely on placed light sources. Test your settings in deep caves and at night to ensure you can navigate safely while maintaining the visual mood you want.
