Reduce Lag While Keeping the Visual Style
Lower Bloom Effect Intensity
The soft bloom on glowing blocks and sky light is a signature feature but can impact frame rate. Reduce bloom radius or intensity in shader settings to lighten the load while retaining the gritty aesthetic.
Disable or Reduce Reflections
Water reflections and surface shine add visual richness but cost performance. Toggle reflections off or lower their quality setting if you're experiencing frame drops. The shader remains atmospheric without them.
Adjust Shadow Distance
Shadows are central to Deprivation Shaders' mood, but rendering distant shadows consumes resources. Reduce shadow render distance to keep nearby areas detailed while improving overall performance.
Optimize Ambient Occlusion
Ambient shading creates depth but can strain lower-end systems. Lower the ambient occlusion quality or radius to maintain smooth gameplay. The retro look survives this reduction well.
Monitor Performance Settings
Deprivation Shaders automatically scales for low and medium hardware, but manual tweaks help. Test each change in varied environments—caves, forests, and open sky—to find the balance between visual appeal and stable frame rates that works for your system.
