Maximize Water Reflections and Surface Effects

Enable Reflection Features

Deprivation Shaders includes block reflections and water surface shine. Ensure these effects are active in your shader settings menu—look for toggles labeled "reflections," "water effects," or "surface shine."

Adjust Reflection Quality

If reflections appear weak or absent, check for a reflection intensity or quality slider. Increase this value to make water surfaces more visibly mirror sky and terrain. Higher settings create more pronounced reflections but may impact performance slightly.

Optimize for Your Hardware

Since Deprivation Shaders is designed for low and medium systems, reflection effects scale automatically. On lower-end hardware, reflections may be subtle—this is intentional. If you have headroom, increasing reflection detail will enhance the water's visual depth.

Test Different Water Conditions

Reflections are most visible during daytime and near light sources. Visit oceans, rivers, and lakes at different times to see how bloom effects on sky light interact with water surfaces. The vintage aesthetic means reflections are soft and atmospheric rather than mirror-sharp.

Check Shader Version

Ensure your shader pack is fully updated, as reflection features may improve across versions.
