Use Dark Mode with a Custom Modpack

Add Packs to Your Modpack

If you're creating or managing a modpack, including the dark mode packs ensures all players get a consistent experience.

1. Download both the original Default Dark Mode and the Expansion Pack

2. Place them in your modpack's resourcepacks/ folder

3. Create or edit options.txt in the modpack's default config to include:

• Both resource packs in the resourcePacks: list
• Expansion Pack listed before the base pack (this reverses the visual order)

4. Document in your modpack's README that dark mode is pre-configured

Test Before Distribution

1. Launch the modpack and open several modded GUIs

2. Verify all interfaces display with dark themes

3. If any mod's GUI appears bright, check the Expansion Pack's supported mod list

4. Adjust resource pack order if needed and re-test

This setup ensures players experience dark mode immediately without manual configuration, improving the first-launch experience.
