Design Effective Traps for Your Territory
Trap Placement Strategy
Your territory is your fortress. Since players swap into your space, traps must be layered and unpredictable. Avoid clustering all traps in one area—smart opponents will learn and avoid it.
Effective Trap Types
1. Pressure plate triggers placed under common landing zones force immediate reactions
2. Fall damage setups using water or suffocation blocks punish players who don't watch their footing
3. Lava moats around valuable items or safe zones create natural barriers
4. Piston chains that activate on proximity can launch players into hazards
5. Concealed pit traps hidden under carpet or snow layers catch unaware opponents
Layout Best Practices
Spread traps across your territory rather than concentrating them. Create "safe-looking" paths that actually lead to hazards. Mix obvious traps with hidden ones so players can't predict your strategy.
Adapt Between Rounds
After each swap, you'll see which traps worked and which players avoided. Modify your layout—move traps, add new ones, or change activation methods. Predictable territory gets exploited; dynamic territory keeps opponents guessing.
Balance Offense and Defense
Don't trap yourself into corners. Leave yourself escape routes and safe zones for when you swap back into your own territory.
