Understand What Deaths Are Counted

What Counts as a Death

The Death Count Mod tracks all player deaths on the server, regardless of cause:

  • Environmental deaths: falling, drowning, suffocation, fire, lava
  • Mob deaths: killed by any hostile or neutral mob
  • PvP deaths: killed by another player
  • Other deaths: starvation, void damage, wither effect, and any other lethal damage source

Death Count Behavior

Each time a player dies and respawns, their death count increases by one. The count is tied to the player's account and persists across server restarts, making it a permanent record of deaths on that server.

The mod does not distinguish between different types of deaths — it simply counts total deaths. This means a player who dies to a creep explosion and a player who dies to another player both increment their counter equally. The focus is on total survival rate rather than categorizing how deaths occur.
