DeadChest Plugin: How Death Chests Work
What Happens When You Die
When a player dies, DeadChest Plugin saves their entire inventory — including armor — into a chest placed at the exact spot where they died. A holographic display above the chest shows the owner's name and a countdown timer for how long the chest will remain.
Timers and Chest Types
When the timer runs out, the chest is destroyed along with everything inside. Server owners can adjust how long deadchests last, or set them to have no timer at all, creating an Infinity chest that never disappears. Chests can also be configured as private, meaning only the owner or an admin can open them, or public, letting anyone take the contents.
Permissions and Compatibility
DeadChest supports all world types, including the Nether and the End. It also offers permissions, world management, item management, WorldGuard support, and gamemode management, so server admins can fine-tune how death chests behave across their worlds.
