DarkTimer Mod Guide

What DarkTimer Does

Modded servers can run into a problem where dropped items never despawn after the usual five minutes. Those leftover entities pile up and cause lag. DarkTimer Mod addresses this by clearing dropped ground items on a fixed schedule, keeping entity counts under control in heavily modded environments where players leave unwanted items behind.

How the Timer Works

The mod runs a cleanup cycle on a set interval. Before each clear, players see warning messages so they have a chance to grab anything important. Warnings appear well ahead of the cleanup and again shortly before it happens, giving a final reminder.

Adjusting the Interval

You are not locked into the default timing. The clearing interval can be changed using datapacks, so server owners can make cleanup happen more or less often depending on how much entity buildup their world experiences. This makes the mod flexible for different server sizes and playstyles without needing to edit the mod itself.
