Turning Old Equipment Back into Resources

DarkSmelting Mod lets you melt down equipment you no longer need and recover the mineral resources it was made from. This covers the standard metal and gem tiers: iron, gold, diamond, and Netherite. You can break down armor, tools, and weapons, so spare or outdated gear becomes reusable material instead of clutter.

The mod goes beyond player equipment. Horse armor can also be smelted down, and the same treatment applies to several common iron items such as buckets, doors, trapdoors, and iron bars. This makes it handy for clearing out storage while topping up your stock of ingots and other base materials.

One practical detail: the mod works when installed only on the server. Players joining do not need it on their own clients, so it can be added to a multiplayer world without requiring everyone to install anything. This makes it a simple way to improve resource management and save space, especially in modded games where materials pile up quickly.
