Make the Damage Flash Easier to See

Choose a High-Contrast Color

If you struggle to see the default red damage indicator, select a color that stands out against typical Minecraft environments. Bright cyan, lime green, or yellow often provide better visibility than darker shades.

Adjust Opacity Settings

If your shader offers opacity or alpha controls for the damage overlay, increase these values to make the flash more prominent. A more opaque overlay is easier to spot during fast-paced combat.

Consider Your Surroundings

Test your chosen color in different lighting conditions—caves, forests, and bright daylight all affect how visible the flash appears. Pick a color that remains clear in your most-played environments.

Avoid Similar Hues

If you use resource packs with custom mob colors, ensure your damage flash color contrasts with those tints. For example, if mobs already have a greenish tint, avoid green for your damage overlay.

Verify in Combat

Engage multiple mobs in succession to confirm the flash is noticeable. Rapid hits should feel responsive and visually clear, helping you track damage dealt without straining your eyes.
