Troubleshooting Saplings That Won't Grow Correctly

Verify Biome Compatibility

The mod only works in biomes added by Terralith or Blooming Biosphere. If you're in a vanilla biome or an unsupported custom biome, saplings will always grow as vanilla trees. Check your map location and confirm you're in a supported biome.

Check Sapling Type Matches Logs

The sapling species must match the original tree's log type. If you plant an oak sapling where a birch tree grew, it will grow as a vanilla oak tree, not a custom birch tree. Always harvest and replant the same log type.

Ensure Proper Growing Conditions

Saplings need appropriate light and space to grow. Make sure the sapling has:

  • Enough vertical clearance above it
  • Adequate light (sunlight or artificial light)
  • Proper soil block beneath it

If conditions aren't met, the sapling won't grow at all, regardless of the mod.
