Growing Custom Trees from Saplings

Identify the Correct Sapling Type

When you harvest a tree in a Terralith or Blooming Biosphere biome, note what type of logs it contains. The sapling you need matches the log type—oak logs require oak saplings, birch logs require birch saplings, and so on. This works even though the tree's shape is custom.

Place the Sapling in the Same Biome

1. Return to the custom biome where you found the original tree

2. Plant the matching vanilla sapling on appropriate soil (dirt, grass, podzol, etc.)

3. Watch for white particle effects around the sapling—this confirms a custom tree will grow

The tree will regenerate in its original modded shape, not as a vanilla tree. This works because the mod recognizes the biome and applies the custom tree structure to the vanilla sapling.
