Build a Curved Ramp or Walkway Using Pipes
Collision Physics for Navigation
Curvy Pipes have physical hitboxes, letting you walk across them like solid blocks or use them as decorative ramps and fences.
Creating a Walkable Curve
1. Place a pipe and use the radial edit menu to insert curve points at different heights
2. Drag points upward or downward to create a smooth slope or staircase effect
3. Test by walking on the pipe—you should be able to traverse it without falling
4. Adjust curve smoothness by adding or removing intermediate points
Design Tips
- Wider curves are easier to walk on; tight angles may feel awkward
- Combine multiple pipes side-by-side for wider walkways
- Use redstone or item pipes for visual variety while maintaining function
- Pipes can also serve as barriers for animal pens—their collision prevents mobs from passing through gaps
- Test with full inventory or armor to ensure the hitbox feels natural at different player heights
