Troubleshoot Why an Ingredient Won't Work in a Recipe

Check the Ingredient Category

Culinary Bridge only bridges ingredients that share the same role. A sweetener won't substitute for a protein, and a starch won't replace dairy. If your ingredient isn't working:

1. Verify the recipe's required ingredient type. Check the recipe book or wiki for the original mod that created the recipe.

2. Confirm your ingredient matches that category. For example, if the recipe needs a protein, your ingredient must be tagged as a protein in its source mod.

3. Check that both mods are loaded. Culinary Bridge only bridges mods that are currently installed and active.

Common Issues

  • Raw vs. cooked: Some recipes distinguish between raw and cooked versions. A raw meat won't work where cooked meat is required, even though both are proteins.
  • Mod not recognized: If a newer cooking mod isn't bridged yet, its ingredients may not translate. Check if an update to Culinary Bridge adds support.
  • Server-side only: On multiplayer servers, the mod works entirely server-side, so all players see the same ingredient compatibility regardless of their client setup.
