How to Configure Fullscreen Types and Borderless Options in cwb.json
Find and Edit the Config File
Cubes Without Borders stores its advanced options in a file called cwb.json, located in your Minecraft instance's config folder. Open it with any plain text editor. If you have YACL or Cloth Config installed, you can instead adjust these same options through an in-game config screen, which is safer than hand-editing.
Understand the Fullscreen Types
The config exposes several fullscreen modes beyond the simple toggle. These let you choose how the window is presented — for example a true borderless window versus other fullscreen behaviors. Read the comments or keys in the file to see which mode maps to which behavior, then set the value you want. Save the file and restart the game for changes to apply.
Practical Tips
- Back up
cwb.jsonbefore editing so you can restore defaults if something looks wrong. - Keep values to the options the file already lists; do not invent new ones.
- If the game fails to start after an edit, delete the file and let the mod regenerate it.
Using the in-game screen is recommended when available, since it prevents syntax errors in the JSON.
