How to Build a Nether Portal with Crying Obsidian
Building Portals with Crying Obsidian
Normally, Nether portals require obsidian blocks. With the Crying Portals Mod installed, crying obsidian becomes a valid frame material too, so you can build a working portal out of it.
To make one, arrange your frame the same way you would a vanilla portal: a rectangular frame with an interior opening that meets the standard size rules. Fill the frame with crying obsidian instead of regular obsidian. You can also mix the two materials freely in the same frame, so a portal might use some obsidian blocks and some crying obsidian blocks together.
Once the frame is complete, activate the portal the same way you always do. The portal behaves exactly like a standard one, following the same size rules, activation method, and destination behavior. The only difference is appearance: a crying obsidian frame gives your portal a distinct look compared to the usual vanilla design.
