Make Your Crosshair Thicker or Thinner
Open the Crosshair Texture
Find the crosshair PNG file in your resource pack's textures/gui/ folder. Open it with an image editor that supports transparency, like GIMP, Photoshop, or even Paint.NET.
Adjust the Line Thickness
The square crosshair is drawn as an outline. To make it thicker:
- Select the outline pixels
- Use the brush or pencil tool to add extra pixels around the existing lines
- Work carefully to keep the square shape symmetrical
To make it thinner:
- Erase pixels from the outer edge of the lines
- Reduce the outline to a single-pixel border if desired
Maintain the Square Shape
Ensure all four sides of the square remain even. Check corners especially — they should meet cleanly without gaps or overlaps.
Save and Test
Save your edited PNG file, then load Minecraft. The new crosshair thickness should display immediately in your game view. If the change is too subtle or too extreme, edit the file again and reload.
