Add a Center Dot to Your Square Crosshair
Edit the Crosshair Texture File
Locate the crosshair PNG in textures/gui/ within your resource pack folder. Open it in an image editor that supports transparency.
Draw a Center Dot
The crosshair texture is small (typically 15×15 or 17×17 pixels). Find the exact center of the image — this is usually one or two pixels in the middle.
Using your editor's pencil or brush tool:
- Select the same color as your crosshair outline
- Draw a small dot at the center point
- Keep it small — 1 to 3 pixels wide — so it doesn't obstruct your view
- Ensure it's perfectly centered
Save Your Changes
Save the file as PNG to preserve transparency. Make sure no extra pixels were added accidentally around the edges.
Load and Verify
Restart Minecraft or reload your resource pack. Look at the center of your screen — you should now see a small dot in the middle of the square crosshair. This gives you a precise aiming point while keeping the clean square aesthetic.
