How to Troubleshoot Cristel Lib Structure Configs That Aren't Working

When a structure config you added through Cristel Lib doesn't seem to do anything, the cause is almost always a data-loading problem rather than the mod itself. Working through the checklist below resolves the vast majority of cases.

Check the Datapack Is Actually Loaded

Run /datapack list and confirm your pack is enabled. If it's missing, your pack.mcmeta is likely absent or malformed, or the pack format doesn't match your game version. Fix the metadata first — nothing else matters if the pack isn't loaded. Also confirm the pack sits in the correct datapacks folder for your world or global setup.

Check Namespace and Path Matching

Cristel Lib reads configs by namespace and file path. If your folder is data/mypack/structures/... but the mod expects a different namespace or subfolder, the config is simply never read. Compare your layout against the mod's bundled configs and mirror it exactly, changing only the namespace if you're overriding. After any edit, run /reload so changes apply without a restart.

Check for Silent Overrides

If a structure vanished after your change, you probably replaced a built-in config with incomplete data. Revert to the original, then reintroduce your modifications gradually, reloading and testing generation in fresh chunks each time. This isolates exactly which change broke things.
