How to Configure Structures with Cristel Lib for Mods Like Terralith and Explorify

Many popular structure and worldgen mods — WWEE, Towns and Towers, Explorify, and Terralith among them — use Cristel Lib to define how their structures are configured. If you want to adjust how those structures behave in your world, you work through Cristel Lib's config system rather than editing the mods themselves.

Understanding Where the Config Lives

Cristel Lib structure configs can come from two sources: code shipped by the mod, or data you provide. When a mod like Terralith ships its structures, its configs are bundled. To override or extend them, you supply your own data in a datapack namespace. The key is matching the namespace and file path the mod expects, so Cristel Lib knows your data is meant to replace or supplement the built-in config.

Applying and Testing Your Changes

Create your datapack, mirror the expected namespace and folder layout, and add your structure config files. Load the world and run /reload. Then generate fresh terrain — either by exploring new chunks or using a locate command for the structure in question — to see whether your config took effect. Because Cristel Lib supports runtime datapacks, you don't need to restart between tweaks; edit, reload, and re-check. If a structure stops appearing entirely, your override likely replaced the original config without providing valid replacement data, so revert that file and reintroduce changes one at a time.
