Removing Unwanted Create Recipes with CreateTweaker

Why Remove Recipes

CreateTweaker is often used to strip out Create's default processing recipes so a modpack can gate progression or force players toward custom alternatives. Each Create machine type has its own handler, and each handler exposes removal methods.

Removal Methods

The common pattern is mods.create.<Handler>.removeRecipe(<output>), which removes any recipe producing that item. Some handlers also support removing by input. For example, to stop the default crushing of an ore into its crushed form, call the Crushing handler's removal with the output item. Repeat for Mixing, Pressing, Compacting, and the other machine handlers as needed.

Order and Verification

Removal calls run when the script loads, so place them before any addRecipe calls that reintroduce a variant. If two scripts touch the same recipe, the last one to load wins, so keep removals in one dedicated file. After saving, run /ct reload and check the machine in-world: feed the input and confirm no output appears. If the recipe still fires, another script or datapack may be re-adding it, or the output stack you specified does not exactly match the registered one. Use CraftTweaker's recipe dump or /ct recipes style inspection to confirm the exact output before removing.
