Build and Operate a Basic Conveyor Belt Line
Prepare Your Power Source
Ensure you have a working shaft system with rotational power running to where you want your conveyor belt. The belt needs continuous power to move items.
Place the Conveyor Belt
Attach the conveyor belt to your powered shaft. The belt will inherit the rotation direction from the shaft—items will move along the direction the belt is facing. You can chain multiple belts together to create longer production lines.
Feed Items Into the Belt
Place a hopper, dropper, or other item source above the belt's input end. Items will automatically land on the belt and be carried along. You can also manually place items on the belt.
Direct Output
At the belt's end, position a chest, hopper, or machine to receive items. Items will fall off the belt into whatever container is below or in front of it.
Adjust Speed and Direction
You can control belt speed by adjusting your shaft's rotational speed using gearboxes or other speed-modifying blocks. Reverse the shaft direction to make the belt run backwards.
Expand Your Line
Connect multiple belts and machines in sequence to create a full assembly line that processes raw materials into finished products.
