Apply Molten Tool Coatings for Durability and Bonuses

Preparing Coated Tools

Molten tool coatings add a second durability bar to your equipment and grant special effects. First, create or obtain a tool you want to upgrade—pickaxes, shovels, and swords all benefit from coatings.

Applying the Coating

Place your tool in a Casting Depot or similar coating station alongside a Mechanical Forge Mould configured for tool coating mode. Supply molten alloy (refined from your distillery) to the depot. The tool will be dipped or sprayed with the molten coating, adding a protective layer.

Coating Effects

Different molten alloys grant different bonuses:

  • Some coatings increase mining speed
  • Others improve durability or add special attack effects
  • Certain alloys provide environmental resistance

Once coated, your tool gains an extra durability bar that regenerates slowly over time. Experiment with different alloy combinations to find the coating that suits your playstyle. Coated tools are ideal for endgame mining and combat.
