Set Up a Custom Chain Texture for Your Conveyor System

Add Your Item to the Valid Chain Tag

First, ensure your desired item is registered as a valid conveyor connector. Use a data pack or KubeJS to add it to the #createchaincompat:valid_for_chain_conveyor tag. This tells the mod the item can function as a chain.

Map a Texture to Your Item

Open or create the file createchaincompat/data_maps/item/chain_tex_data.json in your world or data pack folder. Add an entry for your item using this format:

`json

{

"values": {

"modname:your_item": {

"texture": "modname:textures/block/your_texture.png"

}

}

}

`

Replace modname:your_item with your item's ID and point the texture path to any block texture file in your mod or Minecraft.

Reload and Test

Type /reload in chat to apply your changes without restarting. The texture will now display on chain conveyors connected with your item. You can modify and reload the JSON file as many times as needed during gameplay.
