What CraterLib Does and How to Use It
A Library Mod, Not a Standalone Mod
CraterLib is a library mod, which means it does not add any content, blocks, items, or gameplay on its own. If you install it by itself, nothing in your game will change. It exists purely to support other mods.
Instead, CraterLib provides shared code that multiple mods can rely on. This shared code is used by mods from First Dark Development and HypherionSA, and it helps those mods avoid duplicating the same logic. It also includes platform helpers, which are tools that make it easier for developers to support multiple mod loaders and port their mods between them.
What This Means for Players
For a player, CraterLib is a dependency. You install it because another mod you want requires it. When a mod that depends on CraterLib is present, that mod uses CraterLib's shared code and helpers behind the scenes. CraterLib itself performs no work until a module or dependent mod is installed alongside it. If you remove CraterLib while a dependent mod is still installed, that mod may fail to load or function correctly, so keep it in place as long as its dependents are present.
