Setting Up a Croptopia Crate Storage System

Why Use Croptopia Crates

If you have the Crate Delight: Croptopia addon, you gain over 50 additional crates and bags tailored to Croptopia crops. This turns a chaotic kitchen chest into a clean, browsable wall where every crop has its own labeled box.

Planning the Wall

1. List the Croptopia crops you actually farm — pick only the ones you harvest regularly to avoid a wall of empty crates.

2. Craft one crate per crop using the recipe shown in JEI/REI (each crop type has its own recipe).

3. Arrange them in alphabetical or color order along a wall. Group leafy greens together, root vegetables together, and so on.

4. Add bags for processed Croptopia ingredients like flour, sugar, or spices so raw and refined goods stay separate.

Daily Use

When you return from the field, shift-click each harvest into its matching crate. Because the crate texture matches the crop, you can spot a missing item at a glance and know exactly what to replant.

Tips

  • Build the wall near your kitchen or cooking station so you don't walk far between storage and crafting.
  • Leave a few empty crates at the end of the row for new Croptopia crops you unlock later.
  • Use item frames on the front of each crate if the texture alone isn't distinct enough.
