How to Craft and Use Bags in Crate Delight

What Bags Are For

Bags are the compact counterpart to crates. Instead of holding produce, they store fine or powdery ingredients such as cocoa beans, sugar, and gunpowder. They take up the same block footprint as a crate but visually read as sacks, which makes them perfect for pantries, kitchens, and explosive storage rooms.

Crafting and Placing

Look up "Bag" in JEI/REI or the recipe book to see the exact grid. Craft the bag, then place it on the ground or on top of a block. Right-click to open it and shift-click stacks of cocoa beans, sugar, or gunpowder straight from your inventory.

Organizing a Storage Room

A common layout is a two-row wall: crates on the bottom row for heavy produce, bags on the top row for light ingredients. Because both blocks are dimensionally compact, you can fit a full farm's worth of storage into a single wall without sprawling chest arrays.

Tips

  • Bags keep their contents when broken, so you can rearrange your storage room freely.
  • Label bags by placing a sign or item frame above each one — the sack texture alone won't tell you whether it holds sugar or gunpowder.
  • Keep gunpowder bags away from any open flame or lava for roleplay reasons, even though the mod doesn't add explosion mechanics to them.
