How Crash Patch Mod Works

Crash Patch Mod changes what happens when Minecraft hits an error instead of letting the game close. It wraps the game in a try/catch, so when something goes wrong the crash is caught rather than shutting everything down.

When a crash is detected while you are in a world, the mod exits that world and shows a screen. From there you can:

• Return to playing the game
• Look for solutions to the crash
• Open or upload the crash log

This gives you a chance to keep playing or diagnose the problem without restarting from scratch.

One important limit: if Minecraft crashes while loading or initializing, Crash Patch cannot recover the game. In that case you still get access to possible solutions and the option to open or upload crash logs, but the game itself will not continue.
