How to Recycle Leather Armor into Raw Materials

Understanding Recycling Recipes

Instead of throwing away old leather armor, you can break it down into leather pieces using recycling recipes. Each piece of leather armor yields a different amount of raw leather depending on its type.

Leather boots recycle into fewer pieces than a full chestplate, so prioritize recycling larger armor pieces first for better material returns.

Recycling at the Crafting Table

Place a single piece of leather armor in your crafting grid—you don't need any other ingredients. The leather pieces will appear in the output slot automatically.

Common recycling yields:

  • Leather boots → leather pieces
  • Leather leggings → more leather pieces
  • Leather chestplate → even more pieces
  • Leather helmet → additional pieces

Gathering Materials for New Gear

Once you've collected enough recycled leather, use it to craft new armor or other leather items. This creates a sustainable loop where damaged or unwanted gear becomes useful raw materials instead of waste.

Complete all recycling recipes to unlock the "Not Enough Recycling!" advancement.
