How to Craft a Totem of Undying

What You Need

The Totem of Undying is a rare item that normally only appears in Woodland Mansion loot chests. With this data pack, you can craft one using specific materials gathered from the Overworld.

You'll need to collect several rare or difficult-to-obtain components. Gather these materials before approaching the crafting table.

Crafting the Totem

Arrange your materials in the crafting grid according to the recipe pattern. The exact layout matters—pay attention to which slots each ingredient occupies.

Once crafted successfully, the Totem of Undying will appear in the output slot. This item is extremely valuable for survival, as it prevents death once.

After Crafting

When you obtain your first Totem of Undying, you'll unlock the "Forget Die." advancement.

Carry your Totem in your hotbar or inventory during dangerous activities like deep cave exploration, Nether expeditions, or boss fights. When you take fatal damage while holding it, the Totem activates automatically and saves your life, though it will be consumed in the process.
