Locate Glowstone in the Nether

Glowstone blocks naturally generate on the ceilings of Nether biomes. You'll need to travel to the Nether and look upward to find clusters of these bright yellow blocks. Bring a pickaxe to mine them.

Break Glowstone and Collect Dust

When you break a glowstone block with any pickaxe, it drops glowstone dust. You'll typically get multiple dust from each block, giving you more material per block mined compared to other ingredients. This makes glowstone a reliable source once you have Nether access.

Stock Up for Bulk Crafting

If you plan to craft gunpowder regularly, collect extra glowstone dust and store it. Since glowstone is renewable (you can farm it continuously from the Nether), you can build a sustainable supply chain. Keep stacks of glowstone dust in a chest near your crafting area so you always have this ingredient ready when you need to make gunpowder.
