Equip and Activate Protection

The Totem of Undying works by preventing death when held in your hand or offhand slot. To maximize its effectiveness, keep it in your offhand (secondary hand slot) while exploring dangerous areas like caves, the Nether, or during combat with powerful mobs. This way, you can still use weapons or tools in your main hand.

Understand When It Triggers

The totem activates automatically when you would take fatal damage. Upon activation, it grants temporary protection effects and restores your health, giving you a second chance to escape danger. However, the totem is consumed in the process—you'll need to craft another one.

Plan Your Crafting Strategy

Since each totem is single-use, consider crafting multiple totems if you're planning extended dangerous expeditions. Keep backup totems in your base or Ender chest for emergencies. This mod removes the frustration of relying on rare evoker drops, so you can prepare defensively based on your own schedule.
