Auto-Sort Storage

Instead of manually dragging items around, use the auto-sort feature to organize any container in seconds.

Step 1: Open a Chest or Container

Right-click any chest, barrel, shulker box, or other storage block to open its inventory.

Step 2: Trigger Auto-Sort

Right-click in the empty space outside the container's item grid—don't click on an item. The entire contents will reorganize automatically, grouping identical items together and arranging them logically.

Step 3: Confirm the New Layout

Items are now sorted by type. Similar blocks stack together, tools group separately, and your storage becomes easy to navigate at a glance.

When to Use This

Auto-sort works on your personal inventory too—just right-click empty space in your inventory screen. Use it after mining runs, fishing sessions, or trading with villagers to quickly clean up mixed stacks. This feature respects stack sizes, so items won't merge beyond their normal limits.
