Optimize Frame Rate While Using Cozy & Light

Understand the Shader's Performance Profile

Cozy & Light is designed to run smoothly on most systems because it avoids heavy post-processing effects. However, your frame rate depends on your overall graphics settings and hardware.

Adjust Related Graphics Options

Reduce render distance if you're experiencing lag—this has more impact than the shader itself. Lower your chunk render distance to 8–12 chunks for older computers, or increase it to 16+ if your system handles it well.

Disable Conflicting Features

If you're using other visual mods or resource packs, ensure they don't duplicate lighting effects. Disable bloom, glow, or advanced lighting from other sources to avoid performance overlap.

Monitor Your Frame Rate

Enable the debug screen (F3) to watch your FPS in real-time. Cozy & Light should maintain 60+ FPS on mid-range systems at reasonable render distances.

Test Different Conditions

Check performance during sunset, in caves, and in complex builds with many light sources. The shader's soft lighting should remain consistent without stuttering.
