CorgiLib: What It Does and Why It Matters
Overview
CorgiLib is a library mod, meaning it does not add gameplay content on its own. Instead, it provides shared code that other mods by Corgi Taco depend on to function. If you install a mod that requires CorgiLib and skip the library, that mod will fail to load or crash.
What It Provides
CorgiLib bundles several developer-facing utilities. It adds .json5 config serialization using Mojang's codecs, which allows config files to include comments. It also offers commented codecs, a "trees from NBT" feature, and a codec registry for blending and easing functions so those can be
configured through serialized data. Additional features include entity filters and a villager trade codec registry.
For Players
You generally do not interact with CorgiLib directly. Treat it as a required dependency: install it alongside any mod that lists it, and leave it alone otherwise. If Minecraft crashes and the log mentions CorgiLib, the real cause is usually a mod depending on it, or a version mismatch between the two.
