Troubleshoot Missing or Quiet Rain Sounds

Verify Mod Installation and Game Volume

First, confirm the mod is active by checking your mods list in the launcher. Then check your game's master volume and weather/ambient sound sliders in Settings > Sound. Rain sounds won't be audible if these are muted or set too low.

Check Your Position Relative to Blocks

Rain sounds only play when raindrops hit blocks—you won't hear much in open sky or far from structures. Move closer to buildings, trees, or other block formations during a storm. The closer you are to rain-impacted surfaces, the louder the effect.

Ensure It's Actually Raining

The mod only adds sounds during active rain or thunderstorms. Clear weather produces no rain audio. You can also use commands to force rain if you want to test immediately.

Review Configuration Settings

If sounds are still too quiet, check your config file for volume multipliers and distance settings. Some configurations may have conservative defaults. Increase the overall rain sound volume or reduce the distance threshold so sounds play from farther away.
